Dubonnet

This I found on the edge of a small town on my way back from Dieppe recently, I love the colourful remains of these old Dubonnet advertising posters, well not posters really, murals I guess is more accurate. And very similar image appears on Julian Merrow Smith's site recently, spooky!

The Fountain

I spent a few hours in rochechouart (rosheshwar) my local town, a beautiful afternoon, the sun was just beginning to create some interesting patterns and light. I worked fairly quickly to get the light and shadows I wanted before all changed.

The ford at Upper Slaughter

The word  'Slaughter' comes from the old English word 'Slohtre', nothing to do with slaughtering anyone, it means 'Muddy Place'.  I guess that makes sense as the river runs right through the middle of the village.  Not so muddy now though this and its neighbour Lower Slaughter are amongst the most cared for villages in the Cotswolds

The Old Grain Silo

I have walked passed this old silo many times with my dog, this day the intense blue sky was the perfect compliment to the yellow/orange of the recently cut corn field.
